Shishito peppers are a thin-walled pepper that hail from Asia and are tender and sweet. They make a great appetizer and are incredibly easy to cook! Small and slender, mild Japanese pepper with thin walls that blister and char easily when pan-fried, roasted or grilled, taking on rich flavor that is delicious with coarse salt and lemon juice. Typically harvested green, but eventually turns orange and red with sweeter flavor. Note: one in every ten shishito peppers is said to be spicy.
